Message: Came in around 930am, the floor outside Pateen was pretty quiet. Was greeted politely by the barista who got my Breve order done well and quickly. I appreciated the kind and thoughtful bit of small talk she prompted as we closed my order, it added a nice tone to my morning. The breve was a deep rich pick me up.

Message: This place is awesome. I got their cold pressed coffee and it's delicious along with a cinnamon roll which are home made from scratch.

Message: The price you pay for 1) not taking credit in 2018 an d 2) not warning me until you've made my food and I'm ready to pay and 3) suggesting that I can get cash at a nearby ATM while you wait is that you get to write off the food and coffee you just made.. Looked and smelled like a proper espresso though. Won't know until they join the 21st century and get Square.

Message: Excellent and friendly staff. Yummy scones. Best mocha made with almond milk iv had in a while. And I really appreciate that they do not charge for almond milk. I've never not paid extra for almond milk. Thanks! 2 oregonians..

Message: A small coffee bar with a great feta + artichoke quiche (it could have been warmer) and the gingerbread latte was most excellent. Make sure to try their various scones, these are popular with the locals.

Message: I randomly decided that I wanted coffee so I searched google for a near-by coffee shop. I was NOT disappointed! I walked from one building to another using their fancy "Skyway" (I'm from out of town and this system is genius) and found myself in front of a little cubby-shop. Seriously, a little hole-in-the-wall no more than 4-5 feet deep. There were maybe 2 tables but you're inside a skyway with benches. I took it to-go anyway.. When I googled the place before venturing to find it, I was made aware of two things 1. ) the scones are a must and 2. ) If you're lucky, get the mac-n-cheese. I hit the jack-pot.. Now, I was never a fan of scones because all I've ever had were these dried lumps of dough that crumbled and now matter how much coffee you soak it in they are still dry. NOT THE CASE WITH THESE! This cinnamon scone was amazing - thick, flavorful and MOIST. They also keep the scones just warm enough like you've got there just in time for the new batch (which, as I'm told, are always fresh, made multiple times a day. They just keep it warm for you. I'm not complaining! ). And wouldn't you know it. I'm here for only a day and it was Mac-n-cheese Wednesday. I'm always down for a delicious mac-n-cheese, especially if it isn't some boxed/processed cheese glob of sodium. Oh, I'm still swooning. I wish I knew the combination of cheeses. It wasn't too sharp, and I think they added oregano? I don't care. I would love to stuff my face with this every Wednesday! As for the coffee - I just went for a large latte and it was a wonderful balance of espresso to steamed milk to frothy foam which left my stirring stick standing up on its own. The barista was absolutely amazing and patient as I was making some tough decisions (they had 4 different flavor scones! ) Since I was the only one there (who else gets coffee at 2 in the afternoon?) she and maybe the owner(?) were great with conversation. Told me what I should do to experience the city. Very welcoming and friendly!
